Picker - Distribution Center Warehouse
Summary:
The Distribution Center Warehouse Picker plays a crucial role in the operation of our logistics infrastructure by accurately and efficiently picking and packing products for shipment. Operating as part of a high-performance team to meet daily productivity and customer service targets, this position ensures that correct products are selected, quantities verified, and orders meticulously prepared for distribution while maintaining an uncompromised focus on safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Order Fulfillment: Prepare, load, pack, wrap, label, ship, and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to demanding schedules. Pick and pack products accurately using handheld scanners or pick sheets based on order specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Deliver healthy and fresh products that strictly meet government regulations and company quality standards. Verify product quantities and ensure flawless labeling and packaging prior to shipment.
- Equipment Operation: Safely drive and operate material handling equipment, including forklifts, cherry pickers, electric pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to transport grocery, produce, meat, and houseware items across warehouse spaces. This includes operating equipment to retrieve products from high-level racking and storage areas.
- Inventory Control: Follow strict company loading policies to accurately count and record pallets. Perform regular physical inventory counts and participate in routine cycle counting activities to sustain precise stock levels.
- Receiving Operations: Assist team members in receiving and unloading incoming shipments, ensuring proper validation of shipping documentation and careful inspection of goods for structural quality and accuracy.
- Facility Maintenance: Enforce a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering diligently to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety guidelines, and best operational practices to eliminate workplace accidents or injuries.
- Reporting & Collaboration: Collaboratively interface with warehouse team members to prioritize operational workflows, optimize workloads, and meet facility targets. Identify and immediately report any product discrepancies, damages, or structural quality issues to supervisors or relevant leadership.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain rigorous compliance with all health and environmental safety regulations, including proper handling processes for hazardous materials when applicable. Perform alternate duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven warehouse operations experience with foundational operational knowledge of pallet jacks and forklifts.
- Language Proficiency: English
- Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to maintain employment in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.
Physical Requirements:
- This job may require standing or walking for extended periods of time, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing repetitive motions.
- Ability to use tools and equipment, including but not limited to knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
Working Conditions:
- Performed in a dynamic, fast-paced warehouse environment exposed to noise, variable humidity, and prolonged exposure to refrigerated, cold storage (32° to 50°F), or frozen department temperatures (below 0°F). Appropriate cold-weather protective gear is provided for these conditions.
