Produce Receiver
Summary:
The Produce Receiver / Putaway Clerk supports warehouse operations by ensuring all inbound produce is accurately received, inspected, documented, and stored in the appropriate warehouse locations. This role is critical in maintaining product quality, inventory accuracy, and proper rotation standards. The position works closely with Receiving, Quality Control, and Inventory teams to ensure all products meet company standards and are properly accounted for in the system.
Responsibilities:
- Receive inbound produce shipments by unloading, verifying quantities, and matching products against purchase orders and bills of lading.
- Perform visual and physical inspections of inbound produce for quality, freshness, and damage; report any discrepancies or issues.
- Record receiving data accurately in the warehouse management system (WMS), including product codes, quantities, and lot/date information.
- Label, tag, and stage received products for proper storage or immediate distribution.
- Safely transport and put away products into designated storage locations (coolers, racks, or floor slots) using appropriate equipment (pallet jack, forklift, etc.).
- Ensure proper product rotation (FIFO/FEFO) and storage conditions, including temperature compliance for perishable goods.
- Verify pallet configurations and ensure safe, organized stacking of inventory.
- Identify and report damaged, short, or over-shipped items to supervisors or QC personnel.
- Assist with cycle counts and inventory audits to maintain accurate stock levels.
- Maintain clean and organized receiving and storage areas, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper equipment operation and PPE use.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, including order selection or staging.
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse, receiving, or produce handling experience preferred.
- Basic computer skills; experience with WMS preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Forklift or rider pallet jack experience/certification preferred (or willingness to be trained).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to bend, twist, reach, and lift repetitively.
Working Conditions:
- Cold storage conditions (refrigerated areas).
- Fast-paced, physically active warehouse setting.
- Exposure to fresh produce, including varying temperatures and humidity levels.
Position Details:
- Employment Type: Full Time.
- Location: 6338 Regio Ave, Buena Park, CA 90620.
- Working Hours: Monday - Friday 6AM - 2PM.
- Available to work on weekends and holidays as necessary.

Compensation:
The pay range for this job is between $17 - 19 per hour. This is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
